Transforming the iconic Olympio fountain pen into a historic monument, crafting it like a piece of art to be put on view, looked at and used is a first for S.T.Dupont and offers a new mode of expression to Philippe Tournaire. Fashioned from bronze, each pen and base is chased, engraved, polished and finished with a gold colored patina. The Invalides dome is in pale yellow 18 KT solid gold (6.3 grams on average). The column engraving is inspired by the friezes that decorate the Invalides in Paris; this building is emblematic of the end of the French 17th century. The S.T. Dupont brand name is engraved on the top of the pen under the dome and on the base. The inside stairs are engraved with S.T. Dupont by Tournaire and finished in gold.
