Up for auction is a BRAND NEW, in original packaging and original shipping box , full scale (1:1) , Anakin Skywalker lightsaber prop replica from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith . This lightsaber handle is # 2513 of 4500 made (limited edition series) and was originally released by Master Replicas in April of 2005. Its item number is SW-131 . Original retail cost was $369.00 (USD). It has long been sold out.This saber has been kept in its original packaging since I bought it, and I have never displayed it. The pictures included on the auction page were taken the only time I have removed it from its packaging, and I never touched the saber or display stand without a covered hand.This is an important piece of Star Wars history. It's the lightsaber that Anakin wielded in his fight against Obi-Wan in Episode III , the one he lost when Obi-Wan took it from him. Obi-Wan saved this saber until he finally gave it to Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, when he told Luke, "Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough..."The handle design changed much over the course of the film series, with this version a sleeker and slightly more stylish one than those that followed it (in series chronology).
