On occasion we have one of our Church members donate a piece for auction to support our work and this is one of those auctions. She acquired this beautiful sterling silver reliquary on a recent trip to a Greek island called Mykonos . The cross is in the Byzantine style and was in a small shop window. This is really all we know about its history. It's not an antique piece, but it is extremely well crafted with wonderful details. It weighs 23.6 grams and has a hinged bail. The size of the cross is 2 inches, not including the bail and it is in like new condition. Naturally it has a spacious compartment for relics, but t are no relics inside yet.
