This is a Kellogg 5 bar telephone magneto in excellent condition. Milo Kellogg, one of the main telephone pioneers, started his career with Western Electric Company. He felt he could build a better telephone and founded his company, Kellogg Switchboard & Supply, in Chicago, IL, in 1897. It has been completely reconditioned and in perfect running order. Magnets have been recharged. As you can see in the photos, output is very good @ 150+ volts on my analog AC volt meter, while cranking fast. I used a 120v, 11w incandescent bulb in the picture. It lights right up. The contacts have been cleaned and set. It has been lubed with a dielectric oil. If needed for DC voltage, simply add a full wave bridge rectifier in the circuit, which only costs a few dollars. This can be used to restore your antique telephone, or science experiments etc. Have fun, but be careful. It will shock you!!! :-) As you can see by the pictures, it is in very nice condition. The photos you see are of the actual item that is up for bid. These are not sample pictures. It will be packaged extremely well for safe delivery. Thanks for looking. There will be additional postage for any shipping outside the Continental US.
