Found while clearing out my fathers loft Here for sale i have this lovely Antique Maori Carved Wooden ceremonial Canoe Paddle Nice dark patina (looks slightly lighter colour in the pictures due to camera flash) Very finely carved with a type of "zig-zag" pattern on both sides (see pics) also with a letter "K" engraved on the reverse side The "Paddle" part also has a very slight, deliberate, curved shape Approx. 52 inches long x 6 inches across, at the widest part (The Paddle is 32 inches long & the handle is 20 inches) My father was an officer in the Merchant Navy, from 1950 - 70s so i'm assuming this was acquired on one of his many voyages Slight damage to one edge of the blade (as seen in the pictures) approx 6 inches in length I have tried to include as many pictures as possible, to show the item as clearly as possible, however, if you have any further questions, please send a message & i will endeavour to answer as swiftly & accurately as possible Please also contact me for postage costs to your particular area or country, thanks
