Hi everybody! Gungirly's auctions have changed just a little bit so please read the fine print. I'm ending the summer with a BANG & have LOTS of wonderful goodies to list! If you plan on being away over Labor Day don't forget to set your auction sniper for this great item! Offered for auction is a superb Victorian / Edwardian Era Jeweled enameled collar necklace. It take a lot to get me excited but this necklace just gives me the shivers .... my oh my would I love to know w this has been and who wore it! It is amazing .... gorgeous carnelian glass bezel set stones, intricate gilt filigree, strikning black glass, luminous seed pearls and faux pearl drop and last but not least .. two tone exquisite enameling. This necklace is finely rendered in gold wash / gilt over brass and is signed on the back of the pendant "Made in Austria". This necklace would have been slightly later than cruder constructed Austro-Hungarian pieces and it is fit for a princess. It measures 17 1/2" long from end to end and hangs down 2 7/8" at the center. The pendant measures just under 1 1/4" across. The side drops hang down 1 1/2". It is in excellent vintage condition with no damage. Very little if any wear to the gilt / gold vermeil. Stones a gorgeous .... no chips, no scratches and t is no missing enamel.
