SUSAN A. POINT Susan A. Point is a Coast Salish Indian Artist. She was born in 1952 and lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, she is a member of the Musqueam Band in South West Vancouver.Susan has immersed herself in the study of traditional Coast Salish art and emerged with a language of design both authentic yet vibrantly contemporary. Like many native artists, she uses the form and meaning found in traditional art to create innovative work in a wide range of mediums. In 1980, Susan opened her studio after studying jewelry techniques, serigraphy and painting. As well as practicing traditional motifs, Susan also expresses her own personal style. To date, Susan has produced more than 100 limited edition graphics which included 23K Gold embossings, woodblock prints, serigraphs, glass etchings, handmade paper castings, textile and fashion prints. Susan has also designed and made patterns for cast iron sculpture as well as concrete Bas relief sculpture. Susan has also explored three-dimensional design with respect to wood and bronze.
