For your consideration is this very nice thumbnail-size crystal of brick-red Thorit e-(Fe) with hematite from the South Platte Pegmatite District, Jefferson County, Colorado USA. A good example of crystallized thorit from a classic Colorado localities for the species. Ex. Roland Schmidt collection. Measures ~40,000 CPM on my Ludlum model 3 counter with the 44-9 probe. Thorite crystals from Colorado are not common! Rare!Specimen Dimensions: 2.4 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm. Weight: 17 grams
