This 35 year old Tibetan singing bowl is 5.5" wide and 3.5" deep. It was found in Thimpu , Bhutan and had been used in a local monastery. It was made of seven metals (gold, silver, mercury, copper, tin, lead and iron) and is the best quality of singing bowls in the world. This is manifested by the deep sound and very long duration of the tone. It was chosen for its exceptional balanced tone, authentic old age and excellent condition. The singing bowl has the "Eyes of Buddha" mantra etched on the bottom of the bowl. Etched in the exteriorof the bowl is the "Double Dorje" symbol. The etchings outside the bowl display the Bhutanese auspicious symbols. This bowl is as lovely as they come - fine etchings, beautiful hammer marks, perfect patina. The tone is bright, bell-like and musical. Included is a wooden mallet to help activate the sounds.
