Welsh Lovespoon Traditional Style Up for sale is this uniquely designed and hand crafted Traditional Style Welsh Lovespoon by Steven Austin. As in all traditional Welsh Lovespoon Carvings it is hand carved from a single block of Hardwood, in this case, Mahogany and measures 14" x 4" . The wood has a reddish brown tone and a silky smooth finish. Unlike some commercially made lovespoons you will find slight differencies in the symmetry and occasional markes from the carving tools, a true representation of a hand carved sculpture. This unique Welsh Lovespoon's main elements are comprised of a Dragon, a Celtic Cross and a Heart. The heart symbolizes love, love and affection, the Dragon is the traditional symbol of Wales and represents strength and protection and the Celtic Cross is for faith and marriage. These symbolic meanings of the Welsh Lovespoon are a beautiful way to express your feelings towards someone who is close and very special. The full relief surfaces of the Lovespoon are hand finished to obtain an even texture and buffed to a silky finish using an all natural citrus paste wax. The back of the spoon indicates the carvers initials and date of creation i.e. SA1105. The inclusion of the date guarantees the true age of the carved piece.
