Exceptional Lille Lace Victorian / Edwardian Capelet / Bodice / Collar. Rare style, having short sleeves and fitting to just below the bus tline. Dark Ecru in color, with ecru silk crepe lining. Edges of lining all around the neckline and shoulders are hand rolled and hand sewn with tiny stitches. Rare style, having short sleeves and fitting to just below the bustline. Dark Ecru in color, with ecru silk crepe lining. Edges of lining all around the neckline and shoulders are hand rolled and hand sewn with tiny stitches, barely visible. Very Downton Abby fashion.Beautiful, hard to find lace, having Point d' esprit ground, with elaborate gimp outlines. Measuring 14 1/2" across the shoulders, 34" maximum bodice, 9" long sleeves, and a total of 11" in length. Condition very good for the age. The silk lining is coming apart from its rolled hem at one shoulder, and we find one small tear in the lace, hard to see. View the pictures below for detail.
