Truetone D2211 "The Stratoscope" 1942 Tube Radio Wood Works Great Sounds PerfectUp for auction is a wonderful vintage tube radio. This retro radio works perfect with the sound being very clear and crisp. The radio is a Truetone by Western Auto Supply Company in Kansas City, MO. This is a large tabletop model with a solid wood case that is in wonderful condition. The Model is a 1942 D2211. The face of the radio shows a police channel station. How cool! The back of the radio has a paper label reading "RMA Member, model approved by the Engineering Institute". The bottom has the original paper labeling that is not complete but you can make out "For Use with Glass Tubes Only" and the model number, etc. What a great find for a collector of vintage radios.
