This is a beautiful example. William McKinley pictured on the left of the obverse. These notes were issued from 1915 to 1929 and first appeared in 1915 upon expiration of the Aldrich-Vreeland Act. They differ from the second issue mainly by the absence of the dates "1902-1908" on the reverse. The color of the seal remained blue. These types of notes are the last of the large size National Bank Notes and were discontinued in 1929 not because of any change in National Bank policy, but because of the introduction of the small size National Bank Notes.
