In essence it is the original 12 string guitar brought into England around Europe by travelling gypsy musicians or minstrels following or returning from the crusades. It has 12 strings and these are tuned by way of the 12 large friction pegs at the head like a violin. This one was hand crafted in Morocco and still has the makers hand written label ( In Arabic) inside the body shell. It is made in a very rustic way with most of it hand carved and inlaid, and the peices "cut to fit" as the maker builds it.
