Made for the Erven Lucas Bois distillery. The writing on the Bols bottles read: "Likeur Fabriek Erven Lucas Bols, Amsterdam, Anno 1575 Opgericht" which loosely translates to: "Liquor Factory Heirs Lucas Bois Amsterdam Founded 1575". From the the well-known book "Royal Delft, A Guide to De Porceleyne fles" I've determined the markings on the bottom to indicate production in 1882. They stand 9 1/2 inches tall and the only damage is one chip at the base of one bottle of which I've included a close up photo. Both bottles include stoppers that have a hole w I believe a cord was used to tie the stopper to the base. The original cork is still with one bottle. T is a slight patina / discoloration indicative of the age of the items. This pair of Delftware Liquor Bottles surfaced in the Paris "flea markets" shortly afer W.W.II w my Great Aunt picked them up while her husband was studying at the Bibliotecke.
