This auction is for a pair of matching 1872 chomolithographs in gilt gold wood & gesso vintage frames. B0th of these are included in this auction. These chromolithographic prints each measure 16" x 12" are on pressboard as they were originally made. Both show some signs of their age but not anything substantial. Also, one of the prints has been trimmed off some on one end, but this does not show when framed. Both still have wonderful colors and display beautifully. The ornate gilt gold gesso and wood frames accent these prints perfectly. One of these two prints shows a young girl looking about to fall asleep while she is sitting on a red velvet settee beside her cat and a book on her lap. It is titled "So Tired". The second print shows the young girl sitting on her bed playing with her kitten by dangling her blonde ringlets for it to grab and swat at. Very cute. This print is titled "Frolicking" (I think...from memory) Both prints have the following information on a label on the back; Published by THE INDEPENDENT No. 3 Park Place, N.Y. Entered according to Act of Congress 1872 by H.C. Bowen in the office of the Librarian at Washington. Printed by Brett & Co. N.Y. Prints are under glass. Frames exteriors each measure 20" x 16".
