JOHN PETTY , ONE OF THE BEST KNOW COLLECTORS OF UNCLE JOSH IN THE COUNTRY. THESE PLAY IN REGULAR CD PLAYERS (they are NOT mp3s)! The three compilation CDs contain 56 of Cal Stewart's best stories and they have been digitally remastered.* The forth disk is John Petty's hour long radio show about Cal Stewart's life, his show business career and the early recording business. He talks about the maturing quality of cylinders and flat records with numerous demonstrations from brown wax cylinders to the first electrical 78s. The show aired on radio station WSKY in Asheville, North Carolina in the early seventies and the tape recording John made of the show has been safely tucked away all these years and is now in the hands of the Uncle Josh Museum. The CD set is a fund raising effort by the Museum to offset the enormous cost of acquiring many of the copies of cylinders and 78s that Stewart made. Some of the funds raised will also be used to further develop the web site . Eventually, the site will have mp3 versions of all of Stewart's recordings available to down load or just listen to. The initial offering is 250 copies of the boxed set. More will be available as demand indicates. The Museum also plans to offer special collections of Uncle Josh stories which will be offered in the future. So check EBAY often. Delivery may take as long as four weeks.
