Up for sale is an uncommon 'fantasy' patch for the cancelled Mercury 7 "Delta 7" mission. Before being medically grounded, Mercury 7 was originally to have been flown by Deke Slayton and the capsule was to carry the name "Delta 7". Mercury 7 was then flown instead by Scott Carpenter as "Aurora 7". I purchased this patch about 2005 from the late Randy Hunt. This is a souvenir patch sinc e no artwork was ever approved for this mission and no official patch was ever produced. The patch is full-size (approximately 4" diameter) with an embro idered front and bare cloth backing. This patch is likely very uncommon (I have not seen another example of this patch before for auction) and would make a great addition to any collection.
