1979 United Nations UNICEF International Year of the Child Silver Collection This is the entire 30-coin collectors' set of silver proof coins minted in collaboration with the UNICEF agency of the United Nations to celebrate the first International Year of the Child in 1979. There were just 20,000 such sets made available world-wide. These coins have been in storage since purchased nearly 30 years ago in their original capsules and original blue presentation case with UNICEF INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF THE CHILD in silver lettering on the cover. 30 countries are represented in the collection including the much sought after 1979 CHINA 35 YUAN YEAR OF CHILD PROOF Below are the countries represented in the set, the denomination, diameter, weight, fineness and the mints where the coins were produced.
