Unusual 10.5" heavy plate by Powell, Bishop & Stonier, Hanley, Staffordshire and in wonderful condition. This partnership succeeded Powell and Bishop and ran from 1878 - 1891. Ther are lovely backstamps on the base, one of a man with an umbrella and wording Oriental Ivory, hand painted numbers and letters, a star with a circle Conway, P.B & S, an impressed mark and a lovely old design registration mark which if I am reading it correctly dates this plate to December 1880.
