USS Sarasota. an attack transport was commissioned into the US Navy in Aug 1944. She participated in the Pacific campaign of WWII, earning three battle stars. She was also involved in rescue efforts in the explosion of the ammunition ship Mount Hood.. This rare vintage kit by Renwal is in excellent condition. The box shows little evidence of handling over the years and the model, although not packaged ppears to be in good condition also. The instruction sheett is a bit yellowed,but not brittle and is intact. The dimensions of the current package are 13.25 x 7.5 x 3 and the weight is about 12 oz.
