Vernon Kilns Lei Lani Don Blanding Aloha Beverage Set This auction is for a vintage Vernon Kilns beverage set in the Lei Lani pattern. The hand tinted background is a deep maroon with beautiful Hawaiian flowers in white, pink, blue, yellow, and green. The set consists of a Vernon silouette pitcher, and four tumblers. Condition is very good, with no chips or cracks. One of the tumblers has a pin head glaze fleck on the rim. The pitcher has a pin head glaze fleck on the rim directly above w the top of the handle is attached. These are both very tiny, and difficult to even see without very close inspection. The pitcher does have some very light surface scratches on the bulbous portion. The pitcher measures 11 in tall and about 7 in across the most bulbous part of the pitcher body. Each tumbler measures 5 1/2 in tall and about 3 in across the top opening. The base is marked Lei Lani / Designed by / Aloha / Don Blanding / Vernon Kilns / Made in U.S.A. The Lei Lani pattern was designed by Don Blanding (1894 - 1957) and produced by Vernon Kilns from 1953 to 1955. Working under Gale Turnbull, Blanding created four designs (two floral and two fish).
