Original Victorian uniform button for the 3rd West York Light Infantry Militia. It measures approx 26mm in diameter, and is maker marked for Jennens of London. It is not hallmarked, but I believe it to be silver or silver plated, with a brass backing. It looks like the original sewing loop has been removed, and replaced with a pin clasp fitting, possibly to convert it to a sweetheart brooch. In good condition, with some verdigris to the rear, and some white cleaning fluid residue between the detail.
