BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN RUFFLED BRIDES BOWL CA. 1870 - 1890 Lovely authentic victorian centerpiece stand with lovely cranberry shade brides bowl. This set is just stunning and would make a wonderful statement in the right home. The set was made in the late 1800's and the base has three lovely nude woman kneeling around the stand in a semi art nouveau pattern. Inside the stand is also a very typical victorian art design motif that the bowl relief base sets into. This is a lovely large set, standing at over 6.5 inches in height and with the diameter of 10.5 inches at the widest point. My Aunt had this in the center of one of her dining room card tables. The lovely glass insert is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The stand appears to be a heavy metal that has a gold gilt covering it. I looked for a hallmark but was unable to find one but I amquite certain this is easily over 100 years old. It is very beautiful and the cranberry is rich and radiant. The set would certainly compliment a holiday table setting or grace any collection. This set came out of my Aunt's estate on Nantucket. My Aunt was a nurse in WW1 stationed in France and then spent years as an artist and antiquinarian traveling the world. She loved antiques and taking care of them.
