Victorian Jet NecklaceW/Carved Pendant/BoisDurci Bracelet. This is a genuine black Whitby jet Necklace. It has alternating faceted ½" oblong beads and under ½" round beads and a carved pendant. The pendant is over 1 ½" long x under ¾" wide x ¼" thick. Measures - 17" long and has a push-in clasp. (Appears to have been restrung) The Bois Durci bracelet: Bois Durci is a cellulose based material that was moulded into shapes. Patented by Lepage in Paris in 1855 and was only made commercially between 1860-75, hence scarce today. The bracelet consists of 12 sections inset with crystals and strung with elastic. Measures - 8in. around x 1/2" across and 1/4" thick. T are some cracks but hardly noticeable and don't detract from the appearance.
