This is a circa 1948 (I believe) Gilbert Erector Set, model 3 1/2, in original box with the manual and the original "fan club" card. I am not sure if all the pieces are here because I haven't found a decent inventory list for it, but I've photographed it fully and will gladly provide specific numbers should the question be asked. The box, with manual, weighs 4lbs 6oz, if that assists in figuring out how complete it is. The box shows slight signs of wear including scuff marks, some small scratches, some wear on the still-intact corners, and a tear on the lip of the cover (see photo 8). The box is still fairly rigid. The pieces of the erector set are in good to very good condition. Two notable exceptions (photos 9 and 10) are pieces with more corrosion than the rest. Most of the pieces are suffering from some form of corrosion or rust, although, while there are a few pieces in worse condition than the rest, there are also other pieces in almost perfect condition. Many of the pieces are still attached to the cardboard with metal ties, although not all are. I'm not sure if they have been used and re-tied into the box, or if they were never used to begin with.
