Up for auction are a really great pair of vintage 18k gold, diamond and ruby cuff links with a whimsical smiling fish design! These have hallmarks that date them to a london maker in the early 1970's. The hallmarks are a crown, the number 18, a leopard and a letter P. I accidentally took the picture of these upside down, I apologize. They are also marked with the designer's initials 'JHL' which I have tried to research but could not come up with anything definitive. These are a recent estate sale find so I do not know their history. I have taken them to a very reputable jeweler who verified that everything is authentic and they are 17 pennyweight which I believe converts to a little more than 26 grams. I did not get an actual appraisal b/c of the high appraisal fee. The cuff links are rather large measuring a little over 1 1/4" wide and just under 3/4" long. They are in over all very good condition. As you can see the diamonds are very clean but the gold needs to be cleaned. Also the clasp is slightly bent on one of them.
