This is another from Dad's collection and I need to say that I have not found, what I would suspect to be, a restored engine in this entire collection, BUT I am NOT a qualified judge to tell if it might or might not be. I can only say, I am going to tell you what I see and I am not now and never will try to make any of these hundred's of engines and parts out to be something they are not. If you find that I have blown it on my description after you are holding it in your hand, feel free to send it back for a FULL refund or some other reasonable agreement. Please do not give me BAD feedback before you tell me your thoughts. Thank you, whew! Sorry for the rant. With all that said, I'm going to say that I think this beautiful beast has a really nice gas tank with only a slight residue of oil on the outside. Are they available as repro parts? The spark plug looks brand new, but with some clean white gooey crud inside and outside(i've tried to show it in the pic) that actually has an slight odor of wax, you still with me, and are those made repro? Needle valve looks good, but with metal to metal marks on the turn shaft where that little bracket hangs. The thing that baffles me the most are the small little chips off the top fin at the head and I don't think they are in plain sight in any photo, but you can still see the rough edge right above the word "Super". It looks like a glitch from the factory, but is it possible to be damage?,....don't know. The mounting holes all have a slight vibration-elongation and there are marks where washers or screw heads have been. Someone over the years did that horrible mistake of clamping a pliers teeth on the driveshaft disk to turn it. I use a little rubber pill-jar-opener to test for smoothness and compression, which this baby has both of. I would NEVER put a pair of pliers to any part of any motor and I don't think Dad would have either. Glad we got that out of the way! The whole points assembly looks brand new also and I can imagine that they are available repo. Gaskets? Washers? New looking too. Is all this stuff available repo? I'm going to have to let you be the judge and I can certainly answer questions if you have specifics that you can tell me to look for. Gas tank line, pliable and new looking! Brass nuts too. This is the first engine that I've come across that has opened my eyes to the possibility of being restored. If you've purchased any of my engines, I think you'll agree. Oh, and if you do think this engine is, could you please let me know so I could include that at the bottom of the listing. Thanks. Good Luck and I hope you like it. I forgot to ask if the unbelievable sweet little Auto-Lite sparkplug is also available as a repro part? For the first time, no one has written in to tell me that this piece is or is not riddled with repo parts and I have to say, I'm going to say it's not because that would be the first thing that this many "WATCHERS" would tell me by now and they haven't. I am always willing to be wrong and corrected and I do thank the people that do, but in this case no one has answered any of my questions OR told me that this engine has been refurbished. This only leads me to beleive, even further, that this specimen has NOT been fooled with. Those questions are still at bay and FYI, I don't have to include any questions to my listing if you'd like me not to. Thanks, Vin read more
