Welcome to this auction from ittsy-lectric. On offer is a Vintage Murphy 262 3 Wave Band Valve Radio. Manufactured by Murphy Radio Ltd, Welwyn Garden City in 1955. Cosmetically. The walnut veneer cabinet is in good condition with just a few slight age related marks but there are no deep scratches. The station dial and speaker grille are also in very good condition,[as per photo's]. Electrically, the radio is a LW, MW, VHF band super-heterodyne receiver and uses 5 valves + rectifier, the chassis is in nice clean original condition it also seems to have had very little use in its time and works really well on all wave bands, with a nice rich tone from its 6" round speaker. The set will require an external aerial for LW and MW bands but is fitted with an internal VHF aerial, there are also the usual external aerial sockets on the back, along with sockets for extension loud speaker and PU/gram input. These sets are now becoming quite rare in good original condition and would make a really nice addition to any collection, or can be used as an everyday radio set. The dimensions are: .
