Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome .You are looking at a nice older Philmore M-18 dual crystal microphone from the 1960's era. This unique microphone was produced by quite a few Japanese manufacturers including Calrad and resembled (only in looks) the much higher quality R.C.A ribbon microphones made famous during the 1940's and 50's.This microphone utilizes a High Z dual crystal type element but it does not work. As seen in the pictures provided this particular mic is very good physical condition being free of any dents, fractures or corrosion. Just slight wear on the Philmore badges front and rear. This would make a nice prop or display model to show off in the home, office, or studio. There is nothing loose inside or out. She's a real tight mic. You can always get the element replaced with something much nicer down the road as well. There's plenty of room under the screens to work with.This pill mic model is appx 6 inches tall X 2 inches wide and it will screw onto any American vintage stand as the thread is the universal 5/8. The tightening screws (thumb screws) on the sides work just as they should as well. The chrome pieces are free of any corrosion and really pop. The cloth screens are complete but slightly stained.
