Up for Auction is the very first doll of Howdy Doody. It was putout in the late 1940s by the Effanbee Co. It's a composition doll and the composition material has held out quite well over the years (see photos). The doll has been on display in my TV room for years and is a bit dusty as you can see. My Wife and Granddaughter think the Doll is creepy but I think it's cool and makes a Great display item. Howdy has his original pants and shirt but his bandana is very similar to the later Ideal doll of the 1950s Howdy has no boots as you can see. The doll stand will go wherever he ends up.There is wear on the hair and the doll displays moderate play wear. Questions? Please Ask!
