Offered in this auction is a vintage chalice that is really interesting. I do not know any details about this since it was purchased at a flea market. The design is in relief and of religious scenes from the New Testament. For instance, there is one section with Jesus carrying the cross and another that appears to be of the last supper. There are not dents or dings. I am guessing that this was silverplate but this is worn at this point. I have not tried to clean this in any way and think the patina is left best as is. But, I leave this to the new owner. Perhaps this is an old communion cup for serving the wine. It is really lovely and interesting and has what may be Latin or Italian on the base.
