I am liquidating a collection of "JSP" soda malt bottles. We've all probably seen a few of these in the past, at bottle shows or flea markets. But few turn-up anymore & they are usually found in a stained, chipped, & scratched "dug" condition. These attractive bottles stand about 9" tall, were blown just after the pontil period, and most have applied tops & date from c.1860-1885. They come in some interesting & scarce color variations. The JSP monogram stands for: "Joseph S. Pederson" - out of New York City, sole agent in the U.S. The bottle contained "Johann Hoff's Malt Extract (Beer of Health), a healing remedy for the stomach, dyspepsia, etc., Gold Medal winning medicinal product in London 1862." Lot #1 (You're bidding on one bottle) - for auction is a nice early blobby, applied top example. It is a nice deep forest green, & the glass is crude & has a couple big bubbles encased in the glass. This is the earliest version & the nicest possible example in condition! Shipping, handling, & insurance will be $9.00 for one bottle. ($12.00 for 2, & 14.00 for 3, combined packing & shipping). Bid with confidence - I offer a 10-day return privilege (from the day shipped), if item is not as described. I will email the winning bidder immediately following close of sale, with the total & shipping charges. If in doubt about anything, email read more
