Vintage bronze Japanese bonsai sculpture by the artist Bell. A gorgeous bonsai tree on a large stone with bright blue cobalt. Extremely rare and valuable piece. Stands 5" tall. Very heavy. The trunk is signed "Bell" in black. The tree tops are made of what looks like many little sap green pebbles. I took close ups of the top leaf areas so you could see them well. Intricately sculpted, holding the hundreds of tiny rocks. Jagged, pointy pieces of metal sticking out among the leaves. Difficult to define. Please be careful when opening it, they're quite sharp. See picture #'s 8 through 11. The base measures 3.5" x 3.25" x 4" x 2". The tree top area is approximately 4" x 3". The width of the trunk is about 1/2". The height of the stone at it's highest point is 2". A very challenging piece to research. I found only one other by the artist Bell. Sold here, a best offer was accepted on an auction price of $325.00. One custom bonsai tree site described the style as "root over rock cascade". Thank you for reading.
