This is an auction for a Pair of Elegant Depression Glass Etched Candlesticks by CAMBRIDGE Glass Company in the PORTIA pattern! We believe that these are called double candleholders or 2-lite by Cambridge. They are extremely elegant and worthy, weighty in your hands. T are no chips, cracks, repairs, or breaks to these lovely items. However, t are some slight goldish remnants on some of the PORTIA etching that may lead one to believe that these were once gold encrusted. This is not really noticeable when you hold them up to the light, but rather, when they are flat on wood, you see the goldish areas. Not sure if this will scrub off, but we will leave this task to you, the new owner. The candleholders measure approximately 7 7/8" across, spread. They also measure, at the base, about 5 1/4" round. They each stand approximately 5 1/2" high. These PORTIA candleholders are from my Nana's china cupboard. This pattern was made by the fabulous Cambridge Glass Company from 1932-1953. Portia is another one of Cambridge's popular patterns~~~lovely etching of flowers and scrolls.
