This is a beautiful older cracker jar, similar to a Waterford piece, and could well be but I can't find a mark. In excellent condition with ground, rim on both the jar, lid and bottom. Indentations, possible thumbprint pattern around the top of the jar as well as the lid. The repeated design is a lovely drape or scroll. It is either cut or deeply etched and ground as t are no seams. Approx. 8-1/2" tall with lid, 6" without lid. 4-3/4" across the top and 17" in circumference. No chips, nicks, dings or crack, very solid and weighs 4-1/2 pounds before packed. The lid fits loosely, somewhat wobbly. When I purchased this a number of years ago from an antique shop I was told this was due to the top being cooled to quickly and it could be ground more to tightly fit. I never botd, it's lovely as it is.
