Zoom In Or This auction is for an old vintage Bachmaier & Klemmer Cuckoo Clock Factory 1-day musical hunting-themed cuckoo clock with Regula clock movement, pendulum, two weights, and instructions. Please note that this item has not been tested as we do not know how to properly do this. We are unsure as to whether or not the clock is in working order and are selling it in as found and as is condition and as a unit for parts and/or restoration. We are unsure as to how old the clock is but believe that it dates back to the 1950s or 1960s. The panel on the back of the clock is marked MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY. The clockworks are marked in part as follows: BACHMAIER & KLEMMER. MADE IN WEST-GERMANY. NO (0) JEWELS UNADJUSTED. G.M. 1892176. 1884288. 25. There is also a partial mark on the clock movement that we believe would read REGULA were it complete (the R is missing as is most of the E). There is a label on the side of the clock that reads THORENS MOVEMENT. EMPEROR WALTZ. MADE IN SWITZERLAND. The instructions are marked in part as follows: INSTRUCTIONS. 1-DAY CUCKOO CLOCK WITH MUSIC, WITH 3 WEIGHTS AND WITH PENDULUM WITH RACK STRIKE MOVEMENT. (AUTOMATIC STRIKE CORRECTION). THIS CLOCK IS EQUIPPED WITH A 1-DAY RACK STRIKE MOVEMENT, THAT MEANS, THE AUTOMATIC RACK STRIKE CORRECTION WILL MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT OF STRIKE, NO MATTER IN WHAT DIRECTION THE HANDS ARE TURNED, ON FULL HOUR, THE CLOCK ALWAYS WILL STRIKE RIGHT AGAIN. BACHMAIER & KLEMMER CUCKOO CLOCK FACTORY. BERCHTESGADEN/WESTERN GERMANY. The clock is missing one of its three weights. The two weights included are marked 320 SCH 4 and 320SCH 22. We believe the 320 mark may represent grams as each weight weighs roughly 11.4 oz (not an exact conversion but in the vicinity of 320 grams). The weights both measure roughly 4 7/8" in length. They appear to be made of cast iron and were attracted to a magnet. The wooden casing and accent pieces throughout the clock appear to be intact and free of any broken or missing pieces. The wooden components throughout do have some wear, fading, scratches, nicks, worn and/or bumped edges and/or corners, and dusty areas. One of the corners on the roof has a chip in it. The pendulum looks to be complete and measures roughly 8 1/16" in length from the top hanging bracket to the tip of the slat behind the carved leaf. The clock has 3 long chains and 3 small chains that we believe are made of steel and were attracted to a magnet. The 3 longer chains measure roughly 64 1/2", 62 1/2", and 67" in length from the bottom of the clock case. The clock measures roughly 13" x 10 1/4" x 6 3/4" at its furthest points and not including the pendulum or deer head. The deer head and antlers look to be made out of plastic. The antlers are poseable and are also removable. Please note that the antlers will be removed and packaged carefully within a smaller box to avoid the chances of them breaking during transit. The top crest component will also be removed for the same reason. The clock weighs roughly 3 lbs 4.3 oz not including the weights. The movement/clockworks appear to be made of brass although there are other types of metal components within the clock that were attracted to a magnet. The bellows when manually operated appear to be working and let out a small cuckoo bird noise. The bird and little man appear to be made out of plastic and come out when the door is manually opened.
