Item Information:Up for bid is a rare Swiss made 1 oz 999 Fine Silver Art Bar. Back in the Silver bull market of the 1970's mints were striking a variety of art bars and the Swiss mints were no different. Then in the1980's, due to rising silver prices, many of the bars were melted down for their content making this a rare survivor of the great silver meltdown.This particular bar was minted in 1973 and the mintage is unknown but the mint and style make this a very rare bar.This art bar pays tribute to the First Wisconsin Center building. First Wisconsin Center is the tallest building in the state. It was built in 1973 and won the Distinguished Building Award from the Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1974. In 1992 it was renamed the Firstar Center and was renamed again in 2002 to the U.S. Bank Center.The bar is proof like in finish. An image of the building and a serial number is stamped into the front. On the back is stamped the name FIRST WISCONSIN CENTER, the silver content 999.0, the weight ONE OUNCE, and the location of the mint MADE IN SWITZERLAND.The bar comes in a protective capsule but does have some handling and toning.Please note I try to describe each coin as accurately as possible.
