De Bettignies constructs a new, larger factory in Du Moulin des Loups , a Saint Amand hamlet. 1880 - Gustave Dubois and Léandre Bloquiaux take over Maximilien de Bettignies' company, producing tin-glazed earthenware. In 1 887, the factory becomes a Ltd. (or Inc.); the name is changed to "Manufacture de Faïence et de Porcelaines". 1896 - A second factory opens in Wandignies-Hamage ("Saint Amand et Hamage Nord"), employs approximately 700 people at the peak of production. read more
