Vintage Gardner 2 1/2" Steam Engine Governor probably from an old traction engine. This governor is complete with valve and appears to be in nice condition. There are no missing or chipped gear teeth. No castings are cracked or broken. It has been sitting in an old feed mill for a very long time and the top will not turn, I assume it just needs lubrication. The side of the valve reads "Gardner Gov. Co. Quincy. Ill.". I am going to list this item as local pickup only. It is very heavy and would be difficult to ship but if the buyer pays for all shipping charges I will consider shipping it. Selling with NO RESERVE! I only ship to the lower 48 states! I have been advised by a very knowledgeable ebayer that this governor (No. 279148) was shipped to the Emerson-Brantingham (Geiser Peerless) Company of Waynesboro, Pa. in February 1913. -Very Interesting Fact!
