Old Vintage Iron Sterling Overlaid Bit Ok, I haven't a clue who the maker of this bit is. There is no makers mark, it is definitely hand forged iron, dies have some rust on it, is crudely made but pretty cool also. Perhaps it was a bit makers early attempt at making a bit. It's a heavy duty bit, nothing flimsy about. When I purchased it at an auction 15+ years ago it was on a very nice black rolled leather headstall with sterling bridal Conchos with the initials KCSP. The bit /headstall was paired with an older black Bohlin "parade" saddle of minimal silver. My guess the KC may stand for Kansas City??, but the SP I do not know. The approximate measurements are: Cheeks 8" long x 2 ¾" wide at Conchos, Conchos 2", Mouth 5 ¼" wide, Bars 3/8", Roller 1", Port 2 ¼" high, Cheek Bars 3/8" each . An unusual bit but fits right in if you’re a collector of bits as I have been for years but am now dispersing my collection. Please ask any and all questions before bidding.
