Foryour consideration a charming vintage Ichimatsu Gofun doll, hat, Japanese cloth and paper hand painted wall hanging and two doilies. Doll measures 9"L and is fully jointed. The doll is known as a "Bent Leg Baby". He has bright and clear Brown glass eyes. He is made of composition with an overlay of "Gofun" which is a traditional paste made from crushed oyster shells. What is unusual about this little gofun doll is his entire torso and limbs have been painted to exactly match the texture of his lovely hand painted facial complexion and coloring. Also unusual, he has two protruding nipples on his little chest. His hand painted face is beautifully executed showing a bright red open mouth with a little red tongue. He has a full head of black hair with delicately painted black featd eyebrows. His back shows a few marks of unknown origin. His kimono is in overall very good condition. Gold cloth belt has .25" of slight fraying on one edge of belt. A hand made cloth diaper with two snaps was added for his modesty as he arrived with no underware. Hat and diaper is not original to doll. No cracks in gofun noted. T is one tiny area shown in picture eight, a 1/4" x 1/16" scrape (not a chip) on the lower left side of abdomen w the top layer of paint has come off.
