Vintage 6" Japanese Traditional Gofun Geisha Doll in Wood & Glass Display Case SIZE: 6" Tall DESCRIPTION: Unjointed frozen cloth covered wire body with Gofun head, hands, and feet. Glass eyes. Painted features. Floss hair decorated with silver and pink paper flowers. She is wearing a red floral print traditional Geisha robe and holding a gold painted mask with along streamer attached to the back. The doll is attached to a wooded stand and a glass case fits on top of the stand. The case is glass on three sides and the back side is reflective silver foil. The top piece of glass is also removable and a red cord fits around the case and holds it together. A handwritten note is included but it is difficult to read. It says something about a war bride, but I'm not sure how it applies to the doll. CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. The streamer on the back of the mask appears to have been printed at one time but the images have faded and are very faint now. There are some nicks on the edge of the wood case and the cord is faded and frayed on the ends. Posted with eBay Mobile
