Knights of Columbus Ceremonial KOC Sword Like New The Knights of Columbus was founded in the United States in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney. The society was named in honor of Christopher Columbus and is based on the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. Identifies: Hope Council #398 somw in Wisconsin ---dtd 4/09/49 Attributes of the Weapon: Blade: The blade of the sword is constructed from Stainless Steel with an unsharpened edge. Etched into the blade is "Knights of Columbus" on one side and scroll work on the other side. Scabbard: The scabbard of the sword is polished steel. The drag of the sword is steel with the initials of the Knights and their seal. The scabbard throat is also steel with the initials and seal. On the side of the scabbard throat is a belt clip. Guard: The guard of the sword is steel with a cross arm design. The cross arms are decorated with ornate leaves. Handle: The handle of the sword is black with a bust of Christopher Columbus.
