Beautiful vintage MARUSHKA screen print of Cats and a vase of Calla Lilies, a vision of serenity and peacefulness. This piece is in excellent condition straight from an estate find, just one of about 40 different images I recently purchased. It measures about 21" x 25" (just the screened area). A solid black background with a tan vase and deep forest green on the leaves of the Lilies. Marushka company was founded in Grand Haven, MI. In the early 1970's by Richard Sweet a former school art instructor. He was joined in 1974 by Randy Smith as a co-owner and salesman. The business took off like wildfire worldwide. Most pieces sold for around $24.00. The company last produced these textile art pieces in 1989, when the public turned to decorating with mass produced posters of every sort. Some designs are being produced in Grand Haven under the secondary company these two men started as the Michigan Rag Company producing screen printed clothing items. Please see photos and ask any questions. Always happy to combine shipping. Listing many antique and unique pieces as time allows! So...Check out my other items !! Thanks!
