WELCOME TO MY PAGE UP FOR AUCTION: VINTAGE HAND PAINTED POTTERY DEER FIGURINE FOLK ART EL PALOMAR MEXICO EL PALOMAR was established in Tlaquepaque, Mexico, in the mid 60's promoted by Mr. Arthur Kent and produced under the direction of Mr. Ken Edwards, pioneers of the ceramic industry at high temperature in the country. Mr. Fred Meiers, an international well known designer and expert in Mexican Folk Art created many of El Palomar designs such as Tonala and Guadalajara's tableware. The featured item represents a stoneware figurine that measures approximately 10 1/2" tall and 6" long. It depicts a modern and stylized figure of a deer. The piece is hand painted in traditional Mexican folk art style with flowers, bird and a butterfly. Nice and smooth glossy finish. The back is hand signed with "El Palomar / Mexico" and a fish symbol. The item comes in very good condition for its age. No cracks, chips, repairs or other major surface damages. The paints are well preserved as well. There may be some insignificant natural flaws. Small wear on the bottom of the feet. The featured traditional Mexican folk art stoneware figurine will make a lovely addition to any collection and be a delightful display for any table or shelf!
