Selling a delightful , sturdy, 1930s / through mid 1940s wood Railroad / Train Set / German putz display barn for an under the Christmas tree village / putz. The barn measures approximately 17" tall. Barn itself is 17" square. This handsome barn is from a huge Berks County, Pennsylvania German putz display which was lovingly hand crafted by a farmer and his sons from the late 1930s through the mid 1940s and stocked with German made figures. Guaranteed to be an original putz building from the 1930s / mid 1940s. The enormous display includes the farmhouse, large barn, smaller barn, grossdaddy house, chicken house, sheep fold, goose hovel (their words, not mine), pig pen, oodles of fencing in several styles, wash house, privy and a German made nativity set with all the figures (the only store bought items were the German nativity and the figures, all the rest was home made in the farm's workshop by the farmer and his sons) . THE FENCE AROUND THE PUTZ IS OVER 48' MEANING THE PUTZ DISPLAY IS APPROXIMATELY 12' SQUARE! The real farm has been sold and none of the Grandchildren could see the beauty of the putz display including this delightful barn, they're into Department 56. The grandchildren are all Philistines.
