Vintage / Antique Rare Gold Key / Thermometer from the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition held in San Diego in 1935. This beautiful Key / Thermometer (with gold medallion at the top of the key - please see photos) is 24 Karat Gold Plated (Guaranteed) and is mint (never displayed) in the original box. The thermometer appears to be working fine. There is a gold medallion in the top of the key with a great depiction of the Expo on the front and an Eagle on the back with what appears to be banners surrounding the Eagle with the names of the original 13 Colonies within them. There is a patent number at the other end of the Key (Pat. Aug. 25, 1925).The Key measures about 8 1/2" long and about 2 1/2" wide at the top of the Key. The Gold Key and Thermometer were manufactured by The Fox Company of 4720 N. 18th Street, Philadelphia, PA, USA. The box has some normal aging but is still in excellent condition for its age (80 years). My Uncle picked this up when he was in the US Navy in the 1930's.
