This is such a beautiful old Rosary of heavy black glass beads The old bronze medal of Saint Theresa is stunning The back of it reads "Saint Theresa intercede for me in my hour of affliction" The center medal is of St Theresa as well Each glass bead is capped in brassAll 59 beads secure. 24 inches long. All beads are in perfect condition , NO CHIPS , NO CRACKS ! This Rosary has a beautiful teardrop shaped red bead attached above the crucifix . This is called a " Drop of Blood Bead ". It is a reminder that one drop of our Savior's Blood is enough to cover the iniquities of the world . There is a carved bone skull bead attached. According to the Sisters , the carved skull or skull and crossbones are called a "momento mori" that is latin for " be mindful of dying " . These are just reminders of our mortality and Christ's victory over death . These are Catholic devotional items. Adornments , Crucifixes ,repairs, center medals , and extra medals could have been added at different times .
