Up for auction is a vintage ROYAL DELUXE PORTABLE TYPEWRITER in SPECTACULAR CONDITION. *** The crinkle black finish is SUPERB – REALLY LIKE BRAND NEW *** *** Everything works *** *** Type bars move up and down easily, nothing sticks *** *** Types very well. See photo of actual sample type done on this typewriter *** *** Serial Number A713049. Manufactured 1937 *** The ROYAL DeLUXE PORTABLE TYPEWRITER was introduced in 1935, and THIS ONE FROM 1937 IS A REAL SHOWPIECE. The crinkle black finish is VERY IMPRESSIVE. It really does look like BRAND NEW. NO CHIPS OR MISSING PAINT AT ALL. The parts that are chrome or nickel plated are also excellent. The two “signature” chrome bands that go around the sides and front of the typewriter show very minor signs of age but are still highly reflective and shine beautifully. Mechanically the typewriter is also excellent. It is very clean inside and everything works like it should. Nothing sticks, the type bars move up and down easily, the carriage moves smoothly, the paper feed rollers are in very good condition, the rubber platen is excellent and, and it types very nicely.
